Industry Standard Facilities

• Data Center is located at the UPM-MTDC University Research Park in Serdang, Selangor
• Purpose-Built facilities for Server Farm.
• It has a build up area of 6,500 sq ft and has the capacity to house about 600 to 1,000 servers.

Power

• Dedicated Power Substation is backed up by an 850KVA Diesel Generator which could run at least 48 hours before refueling.
• A parallel redundant UPS (200 KVA) is put in place to ensure immediate power back up during main power outage and as well as to deliver “clean” power to all socket outlets at the equipment rack. Internal policy is established so that the total load of utilization will not exceed 70% of UPS capacity.
• Dual power feed with dedicated Circuit Breaker at the rack. It would minimize the power outage to small area in case of power trip triggered by equipment faulty.
• Power cables are Fire Retardant rated.

Physical Security

• Only a single entrance/exit with 24 hours Security Guard on site with high perimeter fencing. Access to Data Center is controlled by Security Card Access System, Surveillance CCTV systems are positioned at strategic locations outside and inside of the Data Center.
• Entry to Data Center is via pre-approved appointment subjected to Our Policies and Procedures.
• The complex is located within University Campus with Vehicle Patrol Security Round Services.
• Fire fighting able to reach the location within max 15minutes from the UPM Bantu Mula Fire Brigade.

Cooling Environment

• Constant temperature and humidity control via Redundant Precision Air Conditioner Systems. Temperature is maintained at 20 degree Celcius and humidity of 45%.
• Anti static high quality vinyl flooring to prevent unnecessary electrostatic effect.
• Compound Lightning Protection for building and human under Level 1 rating.

Fire Safety

• The Data Center is installed with FM 200 Non Toxic Gas Based Fire Suppression system with smoke and heat detectors. Fire Alarm Panel is monitored from the Network Operation Center.
• Building components are made of Fire Retardant Material such as 250 minutes fire rated Building Wall,non-combustible ceiling panel, and fire rated Electrical Cable.

Organised Layout

• 24 hours manned Network Operation Center with Glass Panel View.
• Neat and structure cabling throughout the server area via overhead cable tray. Server are consist of 19” Open Rack, 19” Closed Rack, customized 30” rack and dedicated caging.
• A staging area is available for pre-installation activities. The area is equipped with standard Network Facility but powered with Isolated Electrical Supply.
• Burn in testing can be done in this room without having to worry about damaging impact to production servers in the Main Server Area.

Telecommunication Service Provisioning

• Multiple TELCO carrier services are available such as Telekom Malaysia, Time Telekom, Pan Eagle and Jaring.
• Therefore it allows various types of telecommunication lines provisioning such as Digital Leased Lines, ISDN BRI/ PRI as well as Analog Leased Lines and PSTN Dial Up.
• Being in part of Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) site, the Telecommunication Service Providers are committed to provision services with utmost priority under MSC Service Level Agreement.

High-Speed Network Backbone

• We are connected via Fast Ethernet to the in-house High Speed Jaring Access Node, as well as TimeDotCom Metro-Ethernet node. Internal LAN is standardized on Fully Redundant Switched Gigabit Ethernet LAN with fiber optic cabling.
• Backbone Router is the powerful Cisco 7500 Series Router with built in redundancy. Core switch is Cisco Catalyst 6500.
• Core network equipment is set up in redundant configuration in terms of power supplies and connectivity. This is to ensure maximum uptime of the core network with zero downtime.
