LIMA Catches up with the Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force
The LIMA '09 organiser's managed to catch up with the Chief of The Royal Malaysian Air Force, General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Azizan Ariffin between his very busy schedule.
Q: How does LIMA fit into The Royal Malaysian Air Force procurement activities? A:
As an Air Force that is continuously modernizing, LIMA works extremely well for us as a showcase of products, technologies and services. It keeps my officers abreast of any product or technological development, which in most cases can be cross referenced on site and is important in evaluating for new assets. Previously we have seen quite a number of contracts on procurement projects which were signed during LIMA and some can be directly attributed to the initial work done at LIMA.
Q: What other benefits does The Royal Malaysian Air Force derive from LIMA?
A: Apart from what was mentioned earlier, LIMA also assembles high ranking government and military officials from across the world. This means heightened activity for military and inter-governmental diplomacy. For the Royal Malaysian Air Force, LIMA offers the opportunity to enhance our bi-lateral relations with other Air Forces especially within the immediate region of ASEAN.
